Google Buzz from your J2ME mobile with OperaMini
Google is improving its Google Buzz. However, priority are changes to the features available to PC users. So, from google’s point of view, if you want to use Buzz from mobile phone, you have really two choices – Android based phones or iPhone. Google is expecting soon to release Buzz to phones with Windows Mobile OS, Nokia handsets based on Symbian S60 and Black Berries. While this is good news for users of listed smartphones, people (including Google) are forgetting that good old standard – J2ME, that is – Java for mobile devices.
So, what about running Buzz on you J2ME compliant phone? Well, yes – you can do it in most cases. You should first try to do so with your phones default web browser – just point it to https://m.google.com/app/buzz?force=1#~buzz:view=menu . You will probably be redirected to log in page – enter your google mail username and password. If that ends up good, you are fine. If it doesn’t read further.
Google Buzz with Opera Mini
Guess what – Google Buzz works with Opera Mini and Opera Mini can be installed on most J2ME phones. So, if previous steps haven’t yielded a result, you have one more option. Install Opera Mini and than point it to the same URL mentioned before.
To install Opera Mini point your phones web browser to the http://m.opera.com and install latest (stable) version of Opera Mini web browser for your mobile. Next, point Opera Mini to the following url (mentioned above): https://m.google.com/app/buzz?force=1#~buzz:view=menu and bookmark that page, so you can access Google Buzz at any time later. Now, just log in and go Buzz yourself nut. Ok, it’s no perfect world, so you may still have problems with commenting on posts (possible, but sometimes complicated to find a way).
